History was created last week when the club played its first ever junior girls match against Claygate lat week. It was great to see the girls, who ranged in age from 7 to 11, performing so well and really enjoying the occasion as they played out an exciting tie. A return fixture is being planned and we are also hoping to play a few more friendlies this season if we can. We are now in double figures for girl junior members, all of whom train with the junior boys, with the older girls playing in boys age group teams. We are very focused on growing our girl membership over the coming years and are looking to be able to enter girls teams into junior league competitions in due course. The planned development of our training ground over the coming autumn/winter is an important step of making the club a more attractive proposition for girls and boys alike and we think will help us in achieving this aim.
