Clean sweep across the U11 teams today

The Velociraptors Roar!… A chilly afternoon in Downsend saw the first victory of the season for the Velociraptors. Batting first, the Raptors made good use of the gaps in the field with some excellent communication and hard running. All pairs contributed to a strong 250, though the partnership btw Sophia von Reibnitz and Anna Monzani exemplified how batters should work together.
The bowling was very disciplined with regular wickets taken by Ben Harvey, James Turner, Sophia and Matthew Parrett along with a spectacular run out from Rory Moloney restricting the batting side.
The game was in the balance until the final over , where Matthew held is nerve, despite a dubious wide being called from the home umpire (his father), to win the match 250 - 247.
Well done Raptors!

The Lions won their first game today in what turned out to be a very exciting finish.
We batted first and made 103. Against a good bowling side, all batsman ran really well with Tom McCulloch the star scoring 27 with Will Shepherd scoring 14.
In reply Chessington needed 14 off the last over. Will held his nerve to leave Chessington on 97.
Lots of positive progression from each of the kids. The message was to cut out wides/no balls and run aggressively. That was the difference and all boys played their part. Well done all

The Swans kept up their 100% record with a comprehensive victory over Banstead.
We batted first and scored 150-2. Cam and Milo both reached 30 and Bertie was unbeaten on 22 at the end.
In response Banstead scored 115 for the loss of 7 wickets. Everyone bowled well but star of the show was Sam Ranger who took 4 wickets. Milo, Ollie and Will Hugill took the other wickets
