Leatherhead Cricket Club – Players and Guests Code of Conduct

Leatherhead Cricket Club players are at all times representing the club. You have a responsibility to uphold the ideals and spirit of cricket and follow the code of conduct. Any Members or Guests not abiding by the LCC Code of Conduct may be asked to leave and, at the discretion of the committee, have his/her membership revoked.

The code of conduct is set out under 3 NON-NEGOTIABLE behaviors that we expect from all players, parents and visitors to the club. These are RESPECT, COMMITMENT and FRIENDSHIP

RESPECT

Respect your teammates.

Remember that no one is any better or more important to the team than anyone else.

Respect your coaches by listening, not talking during team talks and helping carry out tasks when requested.

Respect match officials and at no time argue with the umpire's decision.

Respect the opposition and applaud others' performance.

Shake hands with your opponents after the game (whilst following any public health guidance) and junior teams to perform a 3 cheers for the opposition

Thank all match officials and coaches at the end of every training session/game.

No mobile phones during training sessions or games.

No swearing.

No throwing of batts, helmets or any other equipment.

No destructive behavior.

No chewing gum.

No leaving litter.


COMMITMENT

It is your responsibility to attend training and matches with the correct clothing, equipment and bottle of water.

If you are playing a hard ball match, a box, gloves, helmet and pads must be worn. It is your responsibility to tell the coach if you do not have the correct equipment.

Help set up the equipment and clear away once training/game has finished.

Follow the coaches guidance and at all times try your best in training or matches.

Learn the rules of the game.

Practice at home.

Payment of membership and match fees to be made promptly.

FRIENDSHIP

Every player has a responsibility to make all squad members, other age groups and visitors to the club welcome and at ease.

Bullying of any nature will not be tolerated. This includes at school or any external setting away from the cricket club.

All players will encourage each other and provide support.

Treat everyone equally and never discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, disability, race,ethnic origin, nationality, colour, parental or marital status, religious belief, class or social background, sexual preference or political belief
